Mithrandir + SharePoint

Connecting SharePoint gives every AI agent your company uses the policies, contracts and plans kept in its site libraries. Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and Cursor answer with the document and the passage behind them. Each person sees only the files SharePoint already lets them open, down to each folder and file.

What it reads

What Mithrandir reads from SharePoint

  • Word documents and plain text in every site's document libraries
  • PowerPoint decks, slide text and speaker notes
  • Excel workbooks by their structure: sheets, headers and named ranges, never cell values

Access

The access rules that carry over

  • A file is seen by the people and groups it is shared with, directly or through its folder.
  • Site groups carry over: Owners, Members, Visitors and any custom group.
  • A link for specific people reaches the people it names. An organization-wide or anyone link adds nobody by itself.
  • A permission change applies on the next update, without anyone asking.

Setup

Set up in three steps

  1. 1

Your Microsoft 365 admin approves one read-only Mithrandir application for the company.

  2. 2

Every site's document libraries come in, and changes follow from then on.

  3. 3

People ask from the agent they already use and get answers from the files they can open.

Examples

What your agents can now answer

  • “What does the current travel policy say about client dinners?”
  • “Which clause in the standard supplier agreement covers termination?”
  • “What did the last board deck say about hiring plans?”
