Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated · 21 October 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of the Terms of Service and the Software License Terms. It applies to every customer, to everyone who uses the Software through a customer’s Seats or on its behalf, and to everyone who uses this website. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Software License Terms.
1. The License File and the license check
You must not, and must not let anyone else:
- copy, share, publish or disclose the License File outside the customer and the IT service providers that operate the Deployment for it, or install it on any installation other than the licensed Deployment;
- modify, bypass or disable the license check, including by altering the Software, the License File or the records the Software keeps about the license, or by setting the system clock to extend the term;
- use a License File, or a credential derived from it, to download the Software or fetch a License File for anyone other than the customer it was issued to.
Either of the first two is a material breach of the Software License Terms.
2. Seats and Deployments
- Each Seat is for one named person. Do not let more than one person use a Seat.
- Do not run more Deployments or Seats than your Order allows.
Use beyond the Order is billable at the Order’s prices for the period of that use, in addition to our other rights.
3. The Software
You must not, and must not let anyone else:
- copy the Software, except as strictly needed to install and run it on the licensed Deployment and to make reasonable backup copies kept under the same restrictions;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, or try to derive its source code, except to the extent applicable law permits this despite a contractual restriction;
- sell, resell, rent, lease, lend or sublicense the Software, or provide it or access to it to third parties, including as a hosted, managed or service-bureau offering;
- use the Software, its documentation or our confidential information to build a competing product or service;
- remove or alter any proprietary or license notice in the Software.
4. The data you connect
- Connect only systems and data you have the rights and authorisations to connect and to have the Software process, including any notices, consents and consultations the law requires for personal data.
- Answers come from large language models and can be incomplete or wrong even when they cite sources. Check an answer before relying on it for a decision.
5. This website
Do not misuse this website: no attempts to disrupt it, to gain unauthorised access to it or to any account or endpoint behind it, to submit other people’s information without their permission, or to use it for anything unlawful.
6. Reporting a vulnerability
If you find a vulnerability in the Software or this website, report it to security@trymithrandir.com instead of exploiting it.
7. Consequences
A breach of this policy is a breach of the Agreement. We may then exercise the rights the Software License Terms give us, including termination for material breach and billing for use beyond the Order. A breach of the restrictions is not subject to the cap on liability in the Software License Terms.
